Serres Rally Day 2 : 69 km SS2 - 10 km liaison - SS3 172 km - Liaison 43 km - 52 km SS4
The Serres Rally , the second stage of the Rally Pro Series , 2013, has got underway today at a busy day that saw the contestants compete on land enduro for a total of 346 km.
Riding his Gas Gas Enduro , Jordi Viladoms opened the track for most of the day finishing with the best time that allows him to take the lead in the standings in front of Frans Verhoeven and Henk Knuiman .
The stony soil of this region to the north of Thessaloniki has put a strain Frans Verhoeven, riding his Yamaha YZR Rally .Well even Henk Knuiman , third in the standings .
Jordi Viladoms : "It was a very long route with the thermometer registered 38 degrees . I opened the track for almost all the time , driving for more than 5 hours . The very rocky terrain has also put a strain on the bike and I arrived with the rear tire destroyed. "
Frans Verhoeven : "This morning I started tenth and drove at a good pace in the first two specials , reducing the gap on Viladoms . Pity we lost 16 minutes in the third round timed to a note that was not clear. I'm still happy because it was a great workout riding my Yamaha YZR . Given the heat and the number of miles it was a tough day , I guess it was even more challenging for the drivers amateurs . "
Henk Knuiman : "It's been a long day and very hot. As we saw yesterday , navigation was complicated and required the utmost concentration . In the Netherlands we do not have so stony soils so it was a good workout . "
Pedro Bianchi Prata : "The special today were beautiful , too bad for any inaccuracies on the road book that made me lose a lot of time especially in the third special."
